Many podcasts use Skype or similar voice over IP services to record their podcasts when guests or multiple participants are on a given episode. Sometimes this is fraught with audio quality challenges, so I will be trying a different method. Zencastr offers a service where each guest is sent an email invitation, they join via a web browser, their audio is recorded locally, and then at the end of the session, each participants audio is uploaded by Zencastr to the podcast creator’s Dropbox account for processing. Since each audio session is recorded locally, quality is far better, and this also results in individual audio channels so the participants can be leveled up (or down), echo removed, and other audio magic per participant in post process by the podcast creator. Looking forward to trying out this method.
